Rick Schmidt is a native of Southern Oregon having graduated from SOU in the 60’s and from OHSU in the 70’s.

Throughout his dental career he has constantly sought to upgrade his skills through attendance of numerous continue education courses.

In 1995 he recognized the value of the then new dental microscope and immediately applied this technology to all aspects of dental practice.

Ten years ago he began teaching other dentists in his office and has since taught over 500 dentists in more than 50 courses at Dental Schools and national meetings throughout North America.

He has authored articles on use of the microscope and with his long time teaching partner Dr. Martin Budrou, is completing the only textbook on the advantages and techniques of dental microscopy.

Dr. Schmidt and his wife Lynn have four children and five grandchildren.  He and his family enjoy a wide range of travel and outdoor activities.
